quod·li·bet [kwŏd'lə-bĕt’] (listen). from the latin “what you will”, quod “what” + libet “it pleases”. the word quodlibet can also refer to a theoretical / philosophical discussion, or several melodies played together in a ‘playful’ counterpoint.
